Online Proofreader, Health Sciences Applications

Min. Experience:

The online proofreader reviews the text of mobile apps to ensure correct grammar, usage, and mechanics, following a style guide. Responsibilities include reading multiple-choice questions, entering corrections in a shared spreadsheet, and regularly communicating with the proofreading manager. The ideal candidate is familiar with health sciences terminology, The Chicago Manual of Style, and HTML tags. 

HLT's health sciences apps utilize terms appropriate to nursing, medicine, and dentistry exams. Candidates with knowledge of these fields and their nomenclature are preferred.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of standard English grammar, usage, and writing
  • Familiarity with health sciences terminology
  • Attention to detail, with a strong ability to catch typos and ambiguous or dubious content
  • Working with data, particularly in Google Sheets
  • Familiarity with PDF markups
  • Ability to work well and multitask under deadline pressure
  • Strong communication skills
