The Role of Director of Nursing Innovation

The Director of Nursing Innovation will help develop HLT’s nursing education strategy for content creation, acquisition and positioning. With a deep knowledge of the profession and an ability to share enthusiasm for the mission, the Director of Nursing Innovation will engage with the worldwide nursing community to foster necessary relationships with nursing associations, schools, hospitals, publishers, and other nursing institutions with the aim of creating business partnerships and brand awareness. This role will require frequent travel to nursing conferences, conventions, and meetings with our nursing partners.


The Responsibilities of Director of Nursing Innovation

  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand, shape, and execute our content strategy, identifying problems within a nurse’s lifelong learning and recommending solutions.
  • Identify, prioritize, and connect with external partners to acquire high-quality educational content, in a mix of video, audio, interactive exercises and text, for the pre- and  post-licensure nursing education market.
  • Project HLT’s vision by speaking at events, writing for journals, and engaging audiences through audiovisual presentations.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and internal stakeholders to target the top-priority content areas and highest-potential leads.
  • Lead initial conversations with partners to understand their needs and connect their vision with our mission to improve outcomes through lifelong learning.
  • Collaborate with HLT colleagues to structure and close deals with high-priority partners.
  • Support and resolve escalated partnership issues and maintain relationships with important partners.
  • Integrate across many departments to champion the nursing perspective and connect the team to it in a positive, collaborative manner
  • Explore the fields of nursing and digital health science education generally to connect with vital thinkers and innovators to ensure HLT remains at the vanguard
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing leadership on strategic initiatives, which align with our overall business objectives.
  • Develop deep professional/industry knowledge of nursing practice and trends

Ideal Candidate

You are an engaging team player with exceptional communication skills and a passion for improving the nurse’s learning experience. You have an innate ability to easily engage and influence others while being strategic, resourceful, and innovative in your thinking.

  • Nursing license is required
  • Nursing degree preferred. Bonus: MBA or advanced nursing certification (NPD, NE, CNL, CNE-cl)
  • Experience and relationships in hospital administration, nurse education, nursing management, or clinical nurse leadership
  • Extensive knowledge of post-licensure nursing education needs, including CE, competencies, compliance, etc.
  • Knowledge of hospital systems and other healthcare organizations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
